In order to prevent data loss, you cannot overwrite the original file, but you can still make changes and save them as a copy. Alternatively, you can wait until the project file is released by its editor.

Everyone trying to open the file while you are already working on it will have to open the file in read-only mode or try again later. Until you close the project or open a different one, the file will be locked for editing so no one else can overwrite your work, regardless of the application they use.
Can I edit a local project if someone else is making changes to it?

If somebody has already opened the project file in your local network either in Project Plan 365 for PC / Server, or in Microsoft Project, you will be informed that the file is in use and locked for editing and you will be offered the possibility of opening it in read-only mode. This means that you can make changes to the project, but cannot overwrite the original file and will have to save a copy instead.

In order to “Export to Image” the Bubble view, go to the File menu – Import/Export – Export and select “Export to Image” option. Type the name of the file and press “Save”. You can also use the “Export to Image” option from the “Share” menu. Go to the “Share” menu and click on “Export” option. Select “Export to Image” from the options available, type the name of the file and press “Save”.

In order to track a specific task, right click on the task bubble and select the “Assign color” option. In the “Assign Color” dialog, select the desired color and click on “Assign” button. This will create a new General formatting rule for the Unique Id of the selected task. You can always modify or remove this formatting rule later.

What does the “Resources” group mean?

The “Resources” group shows the tasks grouped by the resource assigned to the task. Each group represents a resource and the subtasks are tasks to which the resource is assigned. If no resource is assigned to a task, it goes into the Unassigned group.
